exercising_weights_heart_400_clr_13182Most people associate the word “strong” with the body. Anyone who has ever been a caregiver knows that true strength comes from the heart and the mind.

Khalil Gibran said, “Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars.”

Today I’d like for you to think about how you have grown through your struggles. Take the time to reflect on the work you’ve done, the love you have shared and the comfort you have brought to others.

If the flesh on your arms is a little saggy, don’t worry about it. Know that everything you have already experienced has helped you become a stronger person, and trust that you will have the compassion, the courage and the mental muscle to get you through whatever lies ahead.
