Virtual Keynote: Parkinson’s: Two Sides of the Same Coin

30, 60, or 90 Minute Online Presentation

This keynote addresses the challenges and rewards experienced by care partners when one person is living with Parkinson’s Disease. Elaine examines the relationships of four real-life couples and shares how each of them are managing the changes, losses, and challenges in their lives due to Parkinson’s. Attendees come away understanding that Parkinson’s is not a one-person disease. They also gain insights into how it is possible to maintain independence and balance in a relationship as the disease progresses.

Caregivers and care receivers come away:

  • Understanding that Parkinson’s is not a one-person disease
  • With a greater awareness of the losses and stress experienced by both the caregiver and the care receiver
  • The importance of end-of-life planning

Until then, read what the meeting planner and attendees at the Parkinson’s Support and Wellness Spring Forum in Cincinatti had to say about Elaine’s new keynote:

“As Co-Chair of the Program Committee for Parkinson Support and Wellness, Inc., I was delighted with Elaine’s keynote address for caregivers and persons with Parkinson’s entitled, “Two Sides of the Same Coin: Dealing with the Emotional Stress of Parkinson’s.” Her  approach of using several case studies along with the animated slides not only held everyone’s attention but illustrated so well the struggles and rewards of dealing with Parkinson’s. Her presentation was both creative and comforting.”
