How to Avoid Being Isolated, Depressed, and Lonely When You’re Old

lonelines-isolation-depression-elderlyI read an article recently about an older man in China who ran an advertisement in a newspaper looking for a caring family who would be willing to provide companionship in exchange for his pension.

Isolation, loneliness, and depression are not uncommon among the elderly in any country, but reading this article made me think about how critically important it is to develop relationships with younger people who will remember us and will want to help care for us when we’re old.
