Elaine will present a one-hour, live virtual keynote titled, “Finding Hope, Humor, and Heart in Caregiving.” She will introduce the three steps of Creative Indifference, which can help attendees manage their caregiver anger, fear, frustration, and fatigue. She will also discuss the difference between earned guilt and unearned guilt, and how it is possible to stop feeling guilty when a person doesn’t do anything wrong.

On November 14, Elaine will facilitate an interactive program for members of Verizon’s Parent and Caregivers Employee Resource group, titled, “Dementia: A Different Reality.” She will help attendees understand how stress and triggers contribute to Sundowning behaviors in the late afternoon. She will also talk about the “Three Don’ts of Dementia” and the benefits of practicing Compassionate Deception.
