I will be presenting a virtual three-hour keynote on Wednesday, April 14th for Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area in Baton Rouge, LA. I will be speaking about managing the emotional stress of caring for individuals who are living with long-term progressive and degenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.
This is a two-day event. On April 15th, Neila J. Donovan, PhD, CCC-SLP, will be speaking about using music and memory to increase interactions and decrease agitation in people with dementia. Karen Stobbe & Mondy Carter will demonstrate how improvisation can be used to Improve Care in Alzheimer’s.
The cost is $25 for family caregivers, $75 for professional caregivers. (Professionals can earn up to 6 CEUs)

I will be presenting a virtual keynote for the Barrow Alzheimer’s and Memory Disorders Care Partner Symposium on Friday, April 30th. The event starts at 1:00 and concludes at 3:30. This conference is focused on helping family caregivers cope with the stress of caring for individuals with memory disorders.
Dr. Anna Burke will also be speaking about how stress affects your brain and body and why it is essential for caregivers to care for themselves.
There is no charge for this event, and all registered participants will receive a free, autographed copy of my book, “Letters from Madelyn, Chronicles of a Caregiver.”
